List of Movies Like The Hangover
1. Hangover (Sequels- II & III) (2011) (2013)
Most viewers are aware of the Hangover sequels but by any chance, you aren’t, say if you just saw the Hangover (2009), then the sequels are a must-watch. Bringing more madness, the next 2 films revolve around the same characters, ‘the Wolfpack’ as they find themselves in more trouble thanks to their blackouts.
Here is the trailer for Hangover II
Without giving away any spoilers, I must tell you that the sequels do a very good job of holding up to the epic comedy of the first film. The crazy night of partying followed by waking up in the morning and not remembering what happened is a consistent framework where the humour lies in what turns up the next morning when they gradually figure out what they did last night. If you’re looking for movies like The Hangover, I’d highly recommend you see the sequels.
2. We’re The Millers (2013)
This comedy film follows a small-time pot dealer, David (Jason Sudeikis) in debt to his supplier agrees to smuggle in a major stash from Mexico. In order to smuggle he puts together a fake family that acts as a cover. Jennifer Aniston plays a quirky stripper alongside the fake kids, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter. Hangover actor, Ed Helms plays the drug lord.
The fake family is a hilarious mismatch, and the uncomfortable situations they find themselves in- it makes for good laughs. Also, Jennifer Aniston had a brilliant comedic time, she steals the show. So, if you are in search of movies like The Hangover, then We’re The Millers is an easy-to-watch amusing film.

3. Ted (2012)
On the surface level, Ted seems like an innocent film about a man and his Alive Teddy Bear, don’t make the mistake and watch it with kids though! The film is a rather R-rated story about a man called John (Mark Wahlberg) who, as a little boy, wishes for his Teddy bear ‘Ted’ to come alive. 30 years later, when he is all grown up, Ted turns into a foul-mouthed companion to John, always giving John’s girlfriend Lori (Mila Kunis) a hard time!
The drinking and smoking habits of John and Ted become a concern as they avoid responsibilities and maturing up. Needless to say, the situation makes for a very entertaining movie with some laughs. The Bear is the focal point and the one who gets most of the laughs, but it’s the dynamic between Ted and John that is so infectious and heartwarming that it makes the movie likeable. Ted is a really solid comedy option for movies like The Hangover.
4. Bad Moms (2016)
The female-centric comedy film Bad Moms has a very straightforward premise, a couple of women- Amy (Mila Kunis), Kiki (Kristen Bell), and Carla (Kathryn Hahn) is fed up with the everyday life of working, taking care of their homes and being mothers. They decide to get away from all the conventional responsibilities and go wild with their freedom!
The girls set themselves up for the ultimate showdown with PTA queen bee Gwendolyn. One thing I personally loved about this movie was that instead of using chaotic scenes and dramatic tensions between characters, a variety of incidents were carefully selected and put together that led to a clear yet relatable image of daily family/parental challenges and struggles with some extremely entertaining moments! Bad Moms will surely be worth a watch if you are interested in films like The Hangover.
5. Horrible Bosses (2011)
Have you ever worked for a boss that was a total nightmare? Well, 3 friends each have a boss that is either a control freak, a predator, or a dimwit. One day, they decide that the only way to be free from the tyrannical executives is to murder them. However, none of them has any idea how their attempted murders go horribly wrong.
The Hangover Horrible Bosses is an unconventional black comedy plot with Jennifer Anniston as the boss and Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis. This is one of the funniest, most unpredictable Adult comedy movies similar to Hangover.
6. Due Date (2010)
The Robert Downey Jr. and Hangover’s Zach Galifianakis starer Due Date is an underrated comedy story of an odd couple heading for redemption. Peter (Robert) lands himself on a no-fly list days before his wife’s due date and is forced to take a road journey where his sanity is tested by an irritating Slacker, Ethan (Zack).
The film is full of crazy, funny, and hard-hitting moments. There are mishaps, from a glorious car crash to a self-inflicted gunshot! Undoubtedly a great performance from Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. Due Date is an absolute must-watch film similar to The Hangover.
7. Bridesmaids (2011)
This is a comedy film between, you guessed it, Bridesmaids. But don’t worry if you think it is going to be cheesy, the film is so unapologetically hilarious that there are moments you’ll truly find hard to forget. A competition is born between the Maid of honour- Helen, and a Bridesmaid- Annie. Annie is actually the bride’s best friend but gets sidelined by the rich and new friend Helen.
Annie, along with her fellow friends, takes on the traditional wedding tour that turns disastrous around every turn. Now, she must put her demons to bed if she’s ever going to give her friend away on a high note. Hilarious and heartwarming, this is a comedy for everyone to see. With a talented cast and some cleverly crafted comedy, Bridesmaids is a great film similar to The Hangover.

This film follows two nerdy best friends who are at the end of their high school journey, it’s when they are invited to a big house party that they realise that they haven’t done anything rebellious. So they decide to live their time by scoring alcohol, finding girls etc.
If you’re in the mood to watch a genuinely funny comedy film where you end up laughing endlessly, then Superbad is the movie for you. This is not another teen comedy movie just about a bunch of guys wanting to get laid. There actually more to this movie than that, the relatable character’s arc makes this a very good choice for movies like The Hangover.
10. Wedding Crashers (2005)
The 2005 comedy film Wedding Crashers follows two divorced men who go from one wedding to another to pick up women, everything changes when John (Owen Wilson) falls in love with a girl called Claire. Wedding crashers might pleasantly surprise you.
While it may seem like a predictable, typical rom-com following the same tropes and beats but story is far more unexpected. One of the main reasons for it to be such a stand-out has to do with its amazing cast. Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Hangover’s Bradley Cooper and Christopher Walken are among a few brilliant actors in this film. Anyone who likes movies like The Hangover will easily have a great time watching Wedding Crashers, give it a try.
