As the sequel to the highest grossing movie in the world, Avatar 2 had big shoes to fill. However, James Cameron's masterful direction ensured that 'The Way Of Water' sequel become one of the most visually pleasing and commercially  successful movies of 2022. 


Decision To Leave

From famed South Korean director Park Chan-Wook, comes one one of the most intriguing and darkly comedic films of the year, 'Decision to Leave'. The film received universal critical acclaim and was loved by critics and audiences alike. 


The Menu

The Menu is another dark comedy/thriller that has plenty to say about the rich and capitalism. Director Mark Mylod leaves his mark with this film, just as Anya Taylor Joy, Ralph Finnes and Nicholas Hoult shine in the cast   


Banshees Of Inisherin

Banshees of Inisherin from director Martin McDonagh is a hilarious yet heart breaking film about two best friends living in Ireland. When one of the friends decides to cut off the friendship, the other tries desperately to mend their broken bond to quite tragic results. Colin Farell and Brendan Gleeson give spectacular performances. 



From one of the most talented contemporary directors comes the sci-fi horror movie that is 'Nope'. Jordan Peele pulls out all the stops in this action-packed movie about a brother-sister due who are being haunted by flying extra-terrestrial being that is hell bent of destroying their lives. 


Triangle of Sadness

Triangle of Sadness won the prestigious Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. From director Ruben Östlund, this is a supremely funny yet profound film about money, power and human behavior that you should definitely check out.

‘The Fablemans’ is the story of Sammy Fableman, a young boy who falls in love with the art of filmmaking and starts making films at home. Made by one of the most respected filmmakers in the world, director Steven Spielberg has made this somewhat autobiographical film that has won plenty of awards and is one of the front runners for best film for the Oscars. If you love the craft of filmmaking, this film is a must-watch.

Tar is an indisputable masterpiece by director Todd Field and Cate Blanchett gives the performance of a lifetime in this incredible movie.

A24’s Everything Everywhere All At Once came out of nowhere and completely blew the competition out of the water. While nobody was expecting this film to be a hit, immensely positive word-of-mouth and rave reviews helped this film become a global hit. It’s not just one of the best sci-fi films of recent times, but also an incredibly touching and heartfelt film.


Top Gun: Maverick

Sequels don’t usually tend to outperform their original counterparts, especially those released decades later. Top Gun: Maverick managed to be much better than the original ‘Top Gun’ while also leaving a lasting impact and becoming one of the highest-grossing movies of all time. Tom Cruise served as the perfectly dashing hero in this complete blockbuster of a film that leaves nothing to be desired and is easily among the best movies of the year.
